NDA stands for National Defence Academy, a premier joint services academy in India. The NDA courses are offered to train the cadets of the three services of the Indian Military: the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force. These courses are part of a comprehensive program designed to develop the physical, academic, and leadership skills of the cadets, preparing them for a career in the armed forces.
Who can apply for the NDA Courses?
NDA courses are open to all Indian unmarried male citizens who meet the age and educational qualifications. At the time of applying, candidates should be between the ages of 16.5 and 19.5 years. Additionally, they must have completed their 10+2 education for the Army and 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics for the Air Force and Navy.
What is the NDA Examination?
The NDA examination is the entrance exam that candidates must pass to gain admission into the NDA courses. This examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) twice a year. It is divided into two written tests: Mathematics and General Ability, followed by an Intelligence and Personality Test.
What is the syllabus of the NDA Examination?
The NDA examination is divided into two sections: Mathematics and General Ability. The Mathematics section includes topics such as Algebra, Matrices, Trigonometry, Analytical Geometry, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus and Differential Equations, Vector Algebra, and Statistics & Probability.
The General Ability section is further divided into two parts: English and General Knowledge. The English portion assesses grammar and usage, vocabulary, comprehension, and coherence.
