A quantity of sungas at -133 occupies 1/3m³ under pressure 1.4 x 10^5 Nm^-2. if the gas occupies 31 m³ at 37°C, its pressure will be
A. 1.26 x 10³Nm^-2
B. 3.3 x10³Nm^-2
C. 1.35 x 10³Nm^-2
D. 2.2 x 10³Nm^-2
E. 10^5Nm^-2
Correct Answer: Option B
Explanation
P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2
Since the temperature has to be in Kelvin,
T1 = -133 + 273 = 140K
T2 = 37 + 273 = 310K
= (1/3×1.4×10^5)/140 = (P2×31)/310
P2 = 3.3 x 10³Nm^-2
