One of the most essential things aspirant must know about the school he/she is aspiring for is the School’s cut off mark.

The cut off mark for admission to the University of Ilorin, UNILORIN, for the 2024/2025 academic session has been released. If you scored exactly or above the UNILORIN cut off mark, you are qualified and eligible to participate in the UNILORIN Post UTME screening exercise; if you scored below the cut off, you are not eligible or qualified to participate in the UNILORIN Post UTME screening exercise.

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) is a federally funded tertiary educational institution in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. In 1973, the Federal Military Government issued an order establishing it. The institution’s area, which spans over 5000 hectares, is one of Nigeria’s largest.

This post is for all those who applied for admission into UNILORIN and have been searching for the University of Ilorin Cut Off Mark to check if the score they had in JAMB can qualify them for admission into UNILORIN for this session (2024/2025).

Before we move on to the unilorin cut off mark for 2024/2025, I will like to explain these two things (general cut off mark and departmental cut off mark, as aspirants do get them confused with each other.

Unilorin General Cut Off Mark 2024/2025

This is the required cut off mark for a school to consider you for admission. If you score below a school’s general cut off mark. You will not be eligible to take their Post-UTME, which means you will not be accepted into that institution. Take, for instance, Unilorin’s general cut off mark is 180, even if you had 179, you will not be able to register for their screening exercise/post utme.

Schools are free to choose their own cut off mark. However, whatever cut off mark they choose should not be lower than the JAMB minimum.

Unilorin Departmental Cut off Mark 2024/2025

The minimum score required to get admitted to a school’s course or department is known as the departmental cut off mark. Unilorin, for example, has a general cut off mark of 180, but separate cut off marks of 250 for Pharmacy, 260 for Common Law, and 260 for Medicine. The more competitive the course, the higher the cut off mark. Each university has a specific cut off mark for all disciplines each year. Some universities make their departmental cut off mark public, while others do not.

Before we go, let me quickly use this opportunity to tell you that University of Ilorin UNILORIN has changed the total mark of the Post UTME from 100% to 30%!

How to Calculate Unilorin Aggregate Cut off mark for the 2024/2025 academic session

Now, JAMB score carries 50%, O’level carries 20% and Post UTME carries 30%.

Take for example; you score 320 in you JAMB. So, you say 320/400 and then multiply by 50, you have 40%. Also if you score 70 in your Post UTME, you say 70/100 and then multiply by 30, you have 21%. And you add your O’level score to the two to make 100%.
